Neth-ER has submitted responses to three public consultations of the European Commission on the future Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Through these contributions, Neth-ER advocates for the interests of the Dutch knowledge community in the next EU budget. The core message? Invest in Europe’s most vital resource: knowledge.
Neth-ER has submitted responses to three of the seven consultations issued by the European Commission on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). With these submissions, Neth-ER actively represents the Dutch knowledge sector in shaping the EU’s future long-term budget. The consultations addressed include:
In all three submissions, Neth-ER calls for strong investment in Europe’s biggest strategic asset: knowledge. Investing in education, research, and innovation is essential to boosting Europe’s competitiveness and strengthening its strategic autonomy.

The next European long-term budget - known as the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) - will define the EU’s spending priorities starting in 2028. The European Commission has launched seven public consultations to collect input from citizens and stakeholders on the future budget and its policy priorities. The Commission’s official proposal is expected in July 2025.
